26 Year-Old Man Arrested for Murder After Stabbing His Mother Death at Her Home in Arlington, Texas

Arlington, Texas - 26 year-old hoodlum/thug Nathan Woodard was arrested and booked on one count of Murder for allegedly killing his mother at her Arlington, Texas home.

On Sunday, February 27 around 7:20 PM, Arlington officers responded to a reported stabbing at a home Sunday evening after a man found his wife, Teresa Dewitt-Pierce (Woodard’s mother), unresponsive and bleeding in the front yard. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the official arrest warrant affidavit, surveillance video from Dewitt-Pierce’s home showed a slender man wearing gloves and dark clothing approach her around 6:30 PM. The person, believed to be Woodard, called out “Mom” before throwing her to the ground. During an attack that lasted 26 minutes, the person stabbed Dewitt-Pierce about 20 times before walking away.

Several times over the past two months, police had been called to Dewitt-Pierce’s Longmeadow Drive home over complaints about Woodard, who had been ordered to stay away from his mother’s home and was homeless because of a drug addiction, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit also detailed an incident on January 4 in which Woodard slashed the tires on his mother’s Mustang. He was found asleep beside the home and arrested on a criminal mischief charge. Police were also called twice in February — including once just two days before the stabbing — because Woodard showed up to the home, according to police.

Officers located and arrested Woodard in Arlington off South Cooper Street and West Park Row Drive on Monday evening, approximately 3.5 miles away from where Dewitt-Pierce was killed.

He is currently being held at Arlington City Jail on one count of Murder.
