39 Year-Old Man Arrested in Arlington after Killing Pedestrian in Drunk Driving Accident


Arlington, Texas - 39 year-old Charles Owoko has been arrested and charged for the death of a 52-year-old man after a hit-and-run incident occurred on Monday night in Arlington.


Arlington Police Department responded to a report around 10 pm that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle near E. Division Street and Great Southwest Parkway. The victim was found near the sidewalk, already pronounced deceased upon arrival.


According to nearby witnesses, the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by an SUV. The driver of the SUV did not stop after the collision.

Several vehicle parts were found in the roadway that linked to a late 2000’s model silver Toyota 4Runner. Grand Prairie Police found Okowo and the matching Toyota 4Runner at a local motel.


After an interrogation and a roadside sobriety test, Owoko was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of Accident Involving Death and Driving While Intoxicated.
