BREAKING: Memphis PD releases footage of fatal beating of Tyre Nichols (WATCH BELOW)

Memphis, TN - Footage released in four parts by Memphis Police Department on Friday evening shows five officers beating 29-year-old Tyre Nichols after a traffic stop on January 7th that led to his eventual death earlier this month.

Nichols was hospitalized in critical condition and died three days after the brutal incident. Police initially said that Nichols was supposedly stopped for reckless driving, but Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis stated early Friday morning an investigation and thorough review of available footage had found "no proof" of that claim.

The five officers involved - Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmett Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr., and Justin Smith - were subsequently fired from the department. All former officers were charged with second-degree murder, two counts of official misconduct, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, one count of official oppression, and one count of aggravated assault.
